VR Career Awareness Day brings a structured, staff-supported VR career-exploration experience to schools and organizations serving students.
Schools, districts, workforce programs, and training centers can inquire about availability, funding, or both.
The day begins in the classroom with chairs, a projector, a screen, a presentation, and a handout. VRAR staff introduce career exploration, headset use, what students will see and do, and the safety expectations for the experience.
Students then move to a VR setup with 24 stations. Each student experiences two simulations: one connected to a familiar career and one connected to a career they may never have heard of.
Students receive a take-home resource and a career list covering more than 100 careers across 15 of 16 career clusters.

Engaging, structured, and approachable. Two simulations per student: one familiar, one never considered before.
Workforce-heavy simulations, including skilled labor and trades, helping students encounter a broader range of paths.

Setup takes approximately 1.5 hours and almost never requires more than two hours of gym access. The standard setup is 24 VR stations in four columns of six, and can operate up to 28 stations.

Headsets are cleaned literally between each session.
Safety rule #1: if a student needs help, take the headset off immediately and then raise a hand.
VRAR staff teach these expectations before the VR portion begins and support the experience throughout the day.
Experience serving Chicago students: VRAR Chicago ran this program at Chicago Public Schools for several thousand students, and it was very successful.
VR Career Awareness Day is available in Chicago and the suburbs.
Schools and districts should generally plan several months ahead. The earliest possible timing is within 30 days.
Funding varies by organization and may involve district funding, foundation support, or workforce grants. Use the inquiry form to indicate whether you want to explore availability, funding, or both.
